RoboChess

Robochess brings the feel of in-person chess to online play by using a robotic arm that physically mirrors the moves of a remote opponent. All sensing and motion control are built from scratch: a custom PCB, embedded firmware, a Hall-effect grid for tracking pieces, and a mechanical gripper tuned to delicately lift chess pieces without disturbing the board.
